Happy New Year!

I hope yours is off to a good start. I am still looking at my Christmas tree (it's coming down tomorrow...I hope), but I have been getting a few of my projects going. Today, I hit up Goodwill and an antique shop. After some digging, I found an amazing lamp for the living room. I've been hoping to find a ceramic, midce

ntury lamp and I was pretty excited when I saw this one.

While I was out, I also stopped by Home Goods for some basket and organization things for the linen closet. I didn't know it, but I needed some new knobs for the vanity in my master bathroom (that thing is pretty ugly and needs at least a coat of paint) and just happened to find the perfect ones on display right inside the door. Installing them was a little trickier than I'd have guessed (I had to take the fronts off of the drawers in order to be able to screw the knobs on tight enough) but, in the end, they

look pretty great. Finally, I got my linen closet project finished. A couple of weeks ago, I bought some more of the polka dotted oil cloth I used to line the kitchen cabinets and drawers, then I loaded up my staple gun with all new staples when I got back from all of my Christmas traveling last weekend. Today, I actually got everything together (after first deciding that I was just not going to paint the inside of the closet...I just couldn't make myself do it) and lined each shelf by wrapping it with oil cloth and stapling the edges. The finished product was pretty good (only the topmost shelf has a visible bottom and, you know, it's still just a linen closet - so, I decided not to worry about it).

Finding all of my towels and sheets in their many boxes from all my moves turned out to be the hardest part. Everything fits pretty well, though, and I think that this tiny closet is gonna work out just fine.
