Under the Stairs

Have you noticed that spring has been on hiatus? Like, this endless gray and rain is not working for me. After suffering miserable allergies for two straight weeks, the sun broke through a little this weekend and I was inspired! Hooray! Finally!

When I moved into my house, my intention from the start was to find a way to convert the downstairs half bath into a full bath. That is still my dream. In the meantime, though, it's been a kind of sad husk of a room waiting for its future incarnation. That's never healthy. You've gotta find a way to be happy with what you are now. So, I decided it was time to spend a little time decorating my little half bath under the stairs.

So, I gathered a few things I had scattered around the house, found a great way to display some old postcards I found in an ancient photo album (from college) and grabbed a couple of cute things at Target. In the end, I feel pretty good about it. It feels like an actual room in a home where people live (or a person lives) and it feels like me. Next time you come by, be sure to use the downstairs bathroom!
